Looms of Benaras is a platform to promote the artistic and cultural heritage of art in Benaras (also called Varanasi). We combine our passion for art in collaboration with artisans, to contribute to the global recognition and sustainability of Varanasi's artistic traditions.
Banarasi sarees history goes back to 14th century wherein the key distinguish feature of Banarasi Saree was the use of zari in gold and silver thread to give them a luxurious and regal appearance.
Over the centuries, the Banarasi saree has evolved to incorporate contemporary designs and color combinations while preserving its traditional essence. Looms of Benaras curates modern variations which may include silk and other fabrics, making them more accessible to everyone.
